As the EU-funded Erasmus Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) in Climate Smart Agriculture in South Africa project will be ending in December, a series of online workshops will be conducted in August and September to focus on mechanisms to sustain the project. The knowledge expert, Mr. Hans Nijhoff from Maastricht School of Management of Maastricht University, will assist the regional CoVEs to build their own business models.
The colleges will focus on building business plans where the relationships with their stakeholders, developed during the project, will play a central role. The objective will be to benefit both the stakeholders and colleges by contributing to the development of skills in the agricultural sector in the three regions.
The outcome of this series of workshops will be the regional CoVE business plans Boland, West Coast and Lovedale TVET College will proudly present at the Final Sustainability Conference. The conference will take place on 7 October at the Water Institute of Stellenbosch University and will be attended by regional and national stakeholders. This opportunity will be used to collaborate and determine the way forward. The journey of CoVE in Climate Smart Agriculture is only beginning!
